SENATE HEARING ON TAXING ONLINE BUSINESSES

On 7 November 2019, Senate held a public hearing to discuss how online businesses should be taxed. PAGASA Pres. Steven T. Cua was seated between Atty. Cyril Alfred Castro of Lazada, Phils. and the Senior Adviser of the American Chamber of  Commerce of the Philippines, Mr. John Forbes.  The Meet was exploratory in nature.  Photo taken after the session included the Chairman of the Phil. Retailers Assn., Atty. Paul Santos (in blue), Vice Chairman Roberto Claudio, PRA staff Mayan Sangil and Consumer Rights Advocate Joaquin Ma. Tamano, Jr. who represented Laban Konsyumer Inc.

PAGASA GENERAL MEETING FOR FIRST QUARTER OF 2021

On the eve of 3 February 2021, the Association held its virtual General Meeting for the first quarter of 2021. The Meet was sponsored by i-Ripple, enabler of My Suki which intends to have as its groceries providers the members of PAGASA. Online selling was a must-do proposition for supermarkets given the extended negative sales effect that the pandemic was wreaking on food retailers.

AJIS OF JAPAN VISITS PAGASA OFFICE

AJIS (All Japan Inventory Service) is an international company performing outsourced physical inventory for retail outlets.  It plans to set up office in the Philippines sometime November and is doing due diligence before investing in the country. On 10 March 2016, (counter-clockwise) Jun Omi-san, Takuya Hisadome-san, Adones Murayama-san, Raita Uckidado-san and Kenta Tagawa-san presented to PAGASA’s STC and William Villanueva what their company is offering the local retail businesses.
