DOJ SPONSORS A SEMINAR ON ANTI-COMPETITION

The Department of Justice hosts a whole-day Seminar-Workshop on the “Promotion of Compliance Program & Advocacy Activities” together with Japan International Cooperative Agency (JICA) at the Sofitel Phil. Plaza on 6 August 2013.  PAGASA was represented by Director Johnny Lim and STC. Picture shows Mr. Hiroki Numba, GM of Taisei Construction Corp.’s  Legal Department, (with interpreter beside him) sharing his experience with Compliance Policies and Programs of the company through its 117 years of history. Other picture shows DOJ Asec. Geronimo L. Sy with STC and PASI Pres. Carlos Cabochan taking a photo-op. This Workshop is in preparation for DOJ’s push for an Anti-Monopoly/Anti-Competition Law.

PAGASA GENERAL MEETING FOR FIRST QUARTER OF 2021

On the eve of 3 February 2021, the Association held its virtual General Meeting for the first quarter of 2021. The Meet was sponsored by i-Ripple, enabler of My Suki which intends to have as its groceries providers the members of PAGASA. Online selling was a must-do proposition for supermarkets given the extended negative sales effect that the pandemic was wreaking on food retailers.

PINHOLES IN POWDERY PACKAGES AT A TIME OF COVID-19

A vigilant shopper sent this video to a social media platform and it went viral. Her observation that the health-hazardous puncturing of minute holes on powdery products packaged in plastic bags (like sugar, salt and the like) to let air out and make displays in supermarkets even and easier for stocking is very valid in view of the uncontained spread of COVID-19.  PAGASA members were advised to refrain from this practice.
